How it Works:
Our Triple Threat Training Camp is a Musical Theatre Intensive designed to help enhance your abilities across the trifecta of singing, acting, and dancing. On top of that we will have classes in Audition 101 and Breaking into the Biz to help you understand the business/professional side of the industry. Our classes will be held over Zoom. We will begin at 8:45am with a Welcome/Intention setting meeting each morning. Our first class will begin at 9:00am and run through 10:30am. We will the take a 30 minute break for participants to relax and get a snack to eat. Beginning promptly at 11:00am will be our second class of the day. That class will end at 12:30pm followed by a wrap up meeting from 12:30-12:45pm.
Auditions are open from May 1st-May 30th, 2021. Auditions are required for all students who want to participate at the full participation level. (For clarification on the levels of participation scroll down). Auditions should be filmed and submitted via WeTransfer to firstname.lastname@example.org. After filling out the form above, and sending the audition fee of $25, submit the following items to us via WeTransfer:
Two contrasting 16-32 bar audition pieces.
One 1-minute monologue
One 1-minute dance reel (optional)
Auditions will be reviewed upon submission and an acceptance email will be sent by May 31st, 2021. The $25 fee for auditioning will be added on to the overall price.
Example: $200 total for full participation - $25 audition fee =$175 due by June 14th
*Audition Fees are non-refundable and will not be reimbursed if you are not accepted into the program.*
Both tuition levels include the audition fee as well as an MTPA t-shirt to wear on the last day of the Triple Threat Training Camp.
Full Participants: $200
Partial Participants: $150
Tuition can be paid via Venmo(@mtpacademy), PayPal (email@example.com), or we will send you an Invoice for a card payment.
**If you miss a class for any reason you will NOT be reimbursed for the missed class**
There are no refunds or exchanges for future classes allowed.
Due to increasing popularity of our classes, we had to develop a level of participation system. The level of participation will be clearly stated in the acceptance email you receive before or on May 31st, 2021.
10-12 spots are open for Full Participation. These students will get to sing their audition pieces for the instructors in the Song Interpretation classes and perform their one minute monologue for the Monologue Study class. They will receive immediate feedback and the opportunity to perform the audition pieces again with the suggested feedback applied. These students will also get access to the Audition 101, Breaking into the Biz, Vocal Technique, and both Musical Theatre Dance classes.
15 spots are open for Partial Participation students. These students will be present for the Song Interpretation classes and the Monologue Class and will be learning by watching others. They should always have their audition pieces ready to go in case there is time left over in a class in which they may be called on to perform. These students will also get access to the Audition 101, Breaking into the Biz, Vocal Technique, and both Musical Theatre Dance classes.
There will also be 15 Individual Class Participation spots open for the Audition 101, Breaking into the Biz, Vocal Technique, and both Musical Theatre Dance classes. These classes will require less one on one critique and interaction therefore we can fill the classes with more students! You can sign up for these individual classes on our "Classes" page.
After you are accepted to our program you will be sent an information packet with the schedule for the camp as well as information on the required etiquette for our virtual classes. Students are expected to be punctual in coming to classes on time. Classes will open 15 minutes before they are set to start and admission to classes will close 5 minutes after they begin. If you try to enter class after the 5 minute mark you will not be admitted and will not be refunded for missing the class.
After receiving your welcome packet full of information, fill out the release forms and send them our way. You will then be matched with one of the directors of our program to begin working on your material. You and your coach will be in contact to ensure your success in the program. They will help you decide what songs and monologues to prepare for class and also make sure you have an accompaniment track that works for you to use during the classes. You will be responsible for playing the accompaniment track while you sing your audition cut. Once you have your song and monologue approved by your advisor, you are ready to begin classes. We hope you enjoy this process and that we will see you in person next year here in NYC!
All questions, comments, and concerns can and should be directed to our Artistic Director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
